Defining Characteristics

Noble, jovial, convivial, magnanimous to a fault, brimming with energy and idealism. Sem'rha strives to be a beacon of virtue for his fellow Twi'lek, his vibrant personality a true reflection of the eponymous Rha clan (roughly translated to "bright or sunny"). His understanding of the world stems from a communal sense of morality -- a duty to act for the greater good of all -- and he's someone who is unable to accept a system of hurt and exploitation; who is enthusiastic about his ideals; who refuses to let feelings of impotence and uncertainty cloud his values; and who possesses an innate, core belief in good.

For the most part, Sem'rha has managed to avoid the common pitfalls of hypocrisy and self-righteousness, though he doesn't seem to realize that his altruism can sometimes do more harm than good. Such outcomes are rare, but readily applicable in situations where his desire to step in and "save the day" robs the victim of their agency and the opportunity to empower themselves. Perhaps the most salient example of this is in his strained relationship with his "sister", for whom he harbours intense feelings of guilt.


Description

A tall, affable young Twi'lek with a radiant smile and a bottomless reservoir of convivial energy, the tinge of his skin a vivid turquoise that seems to glister and glow with the vibrancy of his personality and the integrity of his ideals. He looks fairly handsome, in a boyish, unpretentious sort of way: a defined jaw, a slightly bulbous nose, a smattering of freckles clinging militantly to his nose and cheeks. Two broad bands of colour have been painted over the midsection of his lekku, and under the set of muted blue robes that do nothing for his athletic frame, he smells faintly of earth and dirt and oakmoss.

Early History

Climbing the Jedi Ranks

-Conscripted into the Jedi early on
-Trained as a pilot alongside the typical "curriculum"
-Fairly talented duelist; was a talented Force user though he never had the patience for serious scholarship
-Recently Knighted
-Recently decided to specialize as a Jedi Ace because STARSHIPS R MEANT 2 FLY
-Has some difficulty controlling his Force powers in the air but it's a learning process

Relationships

-Was favoured as the "golden boy" of the clan, before being whisked away to Jeditude
-Met a fellow Twi'lek named Numa'rah -- she originally had no clan name, so he offered to share his
-"Adopted" her as his younger sister, and obviously kept this attachment secret from the Jedi
-Became very protective of Numa'rah -- helped her navigate life's many obstacles, was always there when she needed rescuing, etc... until the one time he wasn't
-They were out on a mission for the Jedi when slavers ambushed them. Although they managed to fend off most of the attackers, Numa'rah and several others were captured and sold into slavery.
-Sem'rha was devastated; it took the Jedi a year to locate her and rescue her
-Since then, Sem'rha has had a very strained relationship with her. She blames him for not being there when she needed him the most -- her "perfect brother" had sheltered her for years, and she'd always thought it was natural to depend on someone else. Sem'rha feels a deep, overriding sense of guilt for not protecting her on the day of the attack.
-Numa'rah left the Jedi not long after that, though rumours say she's doing well for herself as a merc. Still, she cut off all contact with Sem'rha. SO. A lot of guilt and resentment and blame there. And if anyone wants to get into his head, talking about Numa'rah would do it.

Benchmarks:

Fighting Style: Rapid, relentless, physically demanding; Sem'rha takes excellent advantage of his vigour and physical fitness, preferring to unleash a flurry of powerful attacks in rapid succession to quickly overpower his opponent (Form IV). If quick victories aren't possible for one reason or another, he will focus his initial attacks on maiming or injuring his opponent (Form II), and then fall back on a more controlled style, aiming specifically for that part of the body for the duration of the duel (Form V), though his style remains offensive throughout. His impressive endurance allows him to keep this up for quite a while, though that's not to say he enjoys prolonged combat. He fights to maim, not kill -- though in some circumstances, that may not be possible.

In his role as a Starfighter pilot, Sem'rha uses his knowledge of the Force primarily to navigate and maneuver around -- which includes evading incoming attacks and making sharp, unexpected directional changes -- and less so for the offensive aspect of combat. He uses his powers to improve his personal abilities and reaction time (Battlemind; Force Valor; Force Speed; Art of Movement), to sense when danger is incoming (Battle Precognition), and to confuse or distract opponents (Mind Trick; Force Flash).

Agility: High; his dueling style is rapid and unrelenting.

Strength: Medium-High. He's athletic and physically fit -- his strikes carry a good amount of power behind them.

Endurance: Medium. His endurance is impressive, but his combat style tends to be more draining than most.
